In the winter, it’s all about skiing. We offer ski & stay packages with Pats Peak – see specials tab for more. For a little variety, we’re only about 20 miles from Mount Sunapee and Crotched Mountain.
For the Free Heelers (Nordic) enthusiasts, there are trails along the river or in several of the state parks. Pine Hill Ski Club maintains cross country trails in New London.
Ice fishing is a popular activity on our nearby ponds and lakes. Ask about a 1/2 day excursion with one of our local experts.
In the spring and early summer the flow on the Contoocook attracts some skilled kayakers. Bring your own or visit the nearest canoe/kayak rental in Concord. Further down river you’ll find quieter paddling.
Rivers were made for fishing; bring your own gear or have our favorite guides teach you to fly fish in back of Henniker House. “The Contoocook is one of the prettiest rivers in New Hampshire.”
New Hampshire state parks offer a variety of great hikes – Monadnock and Rollins are two of our favorites – The Emerald Necklace is a ring of 14 hiking segments in our region. Not up for a whole day hike? Take a wander in Totten Trails or up Craney Hill; We’ll help you plan an hour or two walk.
